Barn Wood Projects

Most woodworkers love barn wood. My biggest problem is not having enough of it. I have managed to make a few projects with the barn wood I do have. Mostly I have made a few shelves and cup rack holders. They can be used as a cup holder or coat hanger. The transformation from old, dirty, dusty wood to an object of beauty is amazing. They need to be sanded, but not so much that the character and age is erased. Below are a few of the projects done and ready for sale. They are $20.00 each. The 2 triangular ones are $15.00. Woodworking Projects

People ask me all the time "What are you doing in your retirement"? We are still pastoring the church in Barron and are looking for other opportunities to serve the Lord.
I do have 2 sidelines that I really enjoy and spend quite a bit of time with. One of them, of course, is photography. The other is working in "Frank's Doghouse" creating different woodworking projects. I am not a refined woodworker with precise plans and designs. Usually I create these projects "on the go".  I find an idea and then try to put it together.  This is relaxing and even a good time to talk with the Lord.
Below are a few of the projects that I worked on this past year. The top one I just finished. I put in 20 - 25 hours making it and used over $50.00 worth of pine. It is all unfinished pine, except the top, which is cedar. The best way to see any of these is to call and come to the Doghouse for yourself and see what is available. Made right here in Trego, Wi with love.
These are all for sale, so let me know if you want to purchase any of them.

Books Part 2

This past week I looked at several places to find old books that I could "cut up" to make Art Books out of them. The best places was the Spooner Library, Salvation Army in Hayward and the Barron Thrift Store. I walked out the Thrift Store with 8 books and paid all of $3.50 for all of them. A couple of them were even $.15 cents. Then the fun begins trying to figure out what the design should be and what photos fit with each design. Then it is off to the scroll saw to cut up the books. I look at it as giving these old books new life and purpose. Below are a few more that I did this past week. Below each book is a caption with the title of the book. More to come!
The Photo Art Books are $15.00 each. I can also design custom books just for you.
